Where we advise against it
Above zinc or aluminiumrun-off water carries copper compounds and attacks the less noble metal
Over pale natural stoneuncontrolled run-off can leave greenish veils
Coastal and marine airsuitable: copper withstands salt-laden air, the patina turns green to blue-green sooner than inland
Wet roomsonly waxed or lacquered: standing water and cleaning agents mark an open patina
Floorsnot suitable: copper is soft and the patina wears off underfoot
Surfaces touched constantlyunsealed finishes take marks from handling; choose waxed or lacquered
Where an exact colour match is requiredthe colour character is reproducible, the exact marking is not
Say it early
Most of these points are not obstacles but details. Considered during design they cost nothing. Discovered on site they cost time.
